When it comes to jewellery, the thumb rule of fashion aficionados is to pick what best represents their style statement. For instance, a pair of chandelier earrings may be great for the evening party with your best buddies but a professional look is still best complimented with stunning studs. This demarcation is quite depending on the latest trends prevalent in the market. Needless to say, these trends change with time and tide (pun intended). In spite of this jewellery adds the much needed glamour to your overall style statement ensuring that you make head turns whether it’s at the neighbourhood party or the high profile conference.

Here is a look at this year’s hottest jewellery trends

Emeralds are in, quite literally. The colour green represents envy but when it comes to jewellery, green represents emerald stones which are expensive. So, if you are sporting emerald jewellery, it becomes a status symbol. From necklaces to rings and even studs, emeralds are epitome of sophistication when it comes to jewellery. This is one trend that is never going to run out of time!

Bring out the animal in you. Cartier introduced us to the panthers and snakes in jewellery and ever since, the designs became global trend setters. If you are in mood to flaunt a bold style statement, nothing looks more charismatic than a snake ring or a panther bracelet. In fact, these styles are completely retro inspired from the trends of the 50’s era.

As an investment, gold may be great but pure gold is not trending at least when it comes to jewellery. What’s more popular is a lesser expensive 18K version. The shine is a little dull but you get awesome designs and it looks superbly sexy. This is also known as rose or pink gold in the market and looks quite polished.

The bigger the rock, the prettier it becomes. Nobody notices a tiny sapphire band or an emerald ring. But make it a solitaire and you are bound to get compliments. The size of the stone on your ring is what makes all the difference. So ensure that the rock on your finger is nice and big.

Long necklaces are an all-time favourite. Chokers are good for some occasions but most of the time people prefer long necklaces. This is because they look pretty and are relatively easier to handle.
