10 Secret Tips to Improve Your Google Searching Skills in 2021

Play the tabs

The first google search trick is to utilize the tabs that are in Google Search. You know that at the top of every search, there are several tabs. These tabs are labeled as Web, Image, News, and More. You can leverage these tabs to define the type of search you want to perform.

For example, if you search for recent news or articles related to the latest news, you can use the “News” tab. This trick is not a secret to few who already use these tabs to the fullest extent. But if you have not tried it yet, we highly recommend you to try it.

“Quotations” are powerful

Did you know that you can make use of quotes for searching specific terms?

Yes, it is possible. It minimizes the guesswork for Google search. If you want to search for a specific term, just put it under the quotes and get the desired search results.

How does it work?

When you put your search parameters in quotes, it tells the search engine to search for the whole phrase. For example, “Reliable Indian development company” or “best Laravel development company.” Doing this will aid in locating specific information that gets buried under other content.

Keep it simple

It is the basic rule and a general guideline that you should use while searching on Google. Do not complicate your search for words or phrases. Try to keep it as simple as possible.

Let us say, for example, if you want to search for nearby restaurants, use this search; “places to eat near me.”

Search specific sites with “Site:”

You may want to Google search for articles or content from a specific website but getting confused about how to do that directly from the google search engine. It is simple, use “site:'' in between the term and site. For example, "design site:klizos.com." It will gather all the content about design but only from Klizo Solutions. All the other results will be removed or ignored.

Searching with a range of numbers

This google search trick is for those who are interested in money or statistics. You may use two dots and a number to let the Google search engine know that you are looking for something within a specific range of numbers.

For example, “Which countries won the most gold medals in the Olympics ..2020.”

The two dots that we used in the text narrow down searches to a specific number that improve search results as it will not include anything before or after 2005.

Use a dash (-) exclude words

It may be possible that sometimes you search for a word with an unclear meaning. For example, the word run has 57 possible definitions or meanings. So if you want to search for “run (except the movie)” type the query “run -movie”.  It tells the search engine to search for the term “run” excluding any movies that are named “run”.

Limit your search with essential words

Google search engine works by taking the query you type in and matching it with keywords in online content. So, if you search for too many words, it may limit your results and will not produce expected results. It may take longer to find the results that you wanted.

So, do not complicate your search keywords and use only the essential words when searching for something.

Location-based search

You can use this tip as an extension of the previous tip. You can be more precise with your search keywords by typing in the location. You may use location-based search to search for results that are related to a specific location.

For example, Klizo solutions: India. This query will show results with the content including the klizo solutions development company in India. Be it Laravel development, app development, or web development.

Adding search terms

You should not add more than the required information in one go, as millions of websites use the same information in several ways. It refines the search with the best information and brings fewer but more targeted keywords or terms.

Google search shortcuts

You might already know that Google has an algorithm on which it functions. It can swiftly provide you the information you need and display it right at the top of the search results.

It saves time and effort as you do not have to go through several links. And you can use some commands or shortcuts that will provide you with better results.

For example, “Climate *zip code*, you can give city or town names, and this will offer you the weather in the given zip code.
