by Loving Parents Loving Parents
Most of the time we as parents forget that we have the power to influence the attitudes of our kids toward sex as well as relationships. Our goal as a parent on talking about sex with our child is to make this topic a normal affair for them. Doing so ensures that sexual education becomes a routine part of their life just like any other academic subject. As a parent, it is easy for you to do so when kids are about to enter the teenage. Here in this article, we are going to share with you the reasons for talking to your child about physical relationships and their impacts on their lives.

1. Satisfies their curiosity

Most of the kids look for as much advice as they can get on sex and related things and there is no better beacon light then parents themselves. Developing relationships or at least getting attracted to such things as normal during teenage. Thus, there is no way that you can prevent your child from getting fascinated by building such relations with the opposite sex but one thing that you can do for sure is preventing them from following the wrong ways to get the information about the same. Thereby, you can prevent them from going astray by talking to them yourself and answering all their questions.
Help at developing healthy relations
Instead of trying to avoid the topic parents should be open about guiding kids towards developing healthy romantic relationships. It is important that you as a parent talk in-depth to your kids about love and sex. Among the rest of the important things, one thing that you must tell your kid is the importance of consent prior to building such relations. Not only are they supposed to know about things they are not supposed to do but also about things that they have to do in order to ensure safe sex.
1.      Knowing their rights
Children are already aware of the concept of consent when it comes to other scenarios like taking someone else’s notes or toys. However, you need to make them aware of the importance of the same when it comes to getting indulged in sexual relationships also. Just like you cannot touch other people’s stuff without their permission, you do not have the authority to touch someone else’s’ body either.
You as a Parents are responsible for helping your child differentiate between intense attraction and mature love. The concept of love, infatuation and intoxication are really complex. Most of the time children are unable to make a difference between these feelings and end up in a wrong relationship. You, therefore, need to tell them how a healthy relationship looks like and what one should expect out of it.
To wrap up, these are some of the reasons that clearly define why it is important to talk to your child about sex and related concepts.
