You do not want to waste your time trying to sell meat to cattle farmers but rather spend your time trying to sell water to desert dwellers. It only make sense for you to research if there is enough demand for dog trainers in your location i.e. are there lots of dog owners in your location? If there are not enough dog owners in your location then you should research for areas where there is sufficient number of dog owners and probably relocate.

The reason you have to consider relocation is because it is easier to provide service in an area where you are located rather than traveling long distance every now and then. However a well established dog trainer is an exception to this rule; people will traverse long distance just to meet with a well known name and if you are not one of such at the moment then you may be better off relocating to a populated area with a large number of dogs and dog owners. This is very essential before starting a dog training business.
