How to use Rescue Disk feature of Trend Micro Security?
Trend Micro is considered as one of the best antivirus software providing a real and effective protection to the systems like PC, Laptops, Smartphones, tablets etc. It provides a Rescue Disk feature for its customers to scan and remove viruses from infected PCs.
Using this feature you can examine your system with CD, DVD or USB drive. Trend micro support Canada would like to recommend using this feature as it not only detects but also removes difficult-to-clean security threats that can go deep into your system.
Boot your computer from CDROM or USB:
- Shut down your computer.
- Turn on the system.
- Press Delete or Del key as the computer restarts. If it doesn’t work then pressF2. F10 or ESC.
- Find Advanced BIOS using the arrow keys in the appeared blue window.
- Boot your Device using CDROM or USB drive.
- In order to save the made changes tap the F8 key.
- Now restart the system normally.
Download and Run Rescue Disk Tool
- Download the rescue tool from the Trend Micro Diagnostic Toolkit, open the toolkit and click Get Extra Tools>Download Now and save the file to your desktop.
- Go to the saved location and run the downloaded file by clicking on it twice.
- On the appeared window, read the license agreement, tick the box beside “I accept the terms of the license agreement”.
- Click Next.
- Choose the type of Rescue Disk you want to create.
- Hit the Create button and select Create Now. Wait till the files get copied to USB or CDROM.
- Click on Restart Now if prompted. After the computer has restarted a blue window of Trend Micro Rescue Disk will appear.
- Give a click on Remove Threats. Now the let the threats to be removed and then proceed to the next step.
- Disconnect your OSB device or CD/DVD and then tap the ENTER key on your keyboard to restart the machine.
- Complete the process by running another scan using the same tool.
Revert System’s Boot Mode:
- Turn off the system first and start it again.
- Press the Delete key on your keyboard or use the F2/F10/Esc key.
- Find the Advanced BIOS using the arrow keys.
- According to the old settings, the device needs to be booted first.
- Normally restart your PC now.
