How to Troubleshoot QuickBooks Installation Error 1920?

QuickBooks Error 1920 usually occurs when QuickBooks database manager service fails to restart. 

What can be the other reasons for Error 1920?

  • Malfunctioning Operating system.
  • Failed QuickBooks installation.
  • Virus or malware attack.
  • There is power failure or the shutdown of the system was improper. 
  • Few registry entries would have been somehow deleted.
  • Some important system files might have been erased.



How can error 1920 be fixed?

Method 1: Updating windows 

  • Remove the security software which is installed in the system.
  • Firewall needs to be turned off.
  • Multiple programs must not be running. 
  • Update the security with which the software is working. 

 

Method 2: Change name of company file. 

  • Open the company files from QuickBooks.
  • Check the product description by pressing F2 and pen down the location of the company file.
  • Locate the company file and rename it by right clicking over the company file. 



Method 3: To use company files, set up a QB desktop.

  • Reach the file menu in the QuickBooks.
  • Click on “ open or restore an existing company”.
  • Click on Next, when the company file opens.
  • Enter the new name and click on Open.
