Growth years of an infant are always sensitive and vulnerable and they are fully dependent on their parents or guardian. In case of fever, we need to give special attention to them. The immune system of an infant is not strong enough to fight with infections are any diseases. There are many things to care of like:

1.Read the body temperature: Firstly, we need to find the body temperature of a baby and after that should take steps according to it. If baby is of 6 months or younger, then rectal thermometer is preferred. The main reason of using this thermometer is that it gives more accurate reading than ear thermometer. Any baby over 6 months old with a temperature between 101° F. and 103° F. can be observed at home for 24 hours. If the fever persists after that period, or goes down and then rises again, you should contact your pediatrician. Fevers higher than 104° F. should be attended to immediately. There will be some other symptoms if baby is really sick like vomiting, a rash, runny nose, coughing, or labored breathing. Behavioral changes-unusual crankiness, pulling on the ears, increased or decreased sleeping, lethargy, or a dramatic loss or increase in appetite-should also be considered for a complete diagnosis. Moreover, the following conditions in babies are considered to be very dangerous. Never give your baby aspirin, which has been linked to a life-threatening condition called Reye's syndrome-a rare but often fatal illness in which a fluid imbalance causes swelling of the kidneys and brain. In fact, it's always wise to talk to your physician or search online like urgent care Hoboken

2  Keep baby hydrated: Baby should be given breast milk or formula for hydration during a fever.

3. Dose: If baby is at least of 6 months, then acetaminophen or ibuprofen dose should be given. Never give more than the recommended dosage to your child, you should always take an opinion of a child care specialist before giving any drug, child weight will determine the right dosage. Always use the measuring device that comes with the medicine to give your baby exactly the right amount. If still there is no improvement, you should immediately visit Urgent Care Dunellen and have an expert doctor advice.

4. Lukewarm bath: If baby is running a high fever and seems uncomfortable, put him in a lukewarm bath to try to bring his body  temperature down.

5. Avoid sponge bath: Health experts suggest that sponge bath can be dangerous for babies as it brings down temperature so fast that body will consequently heat back up more higher to compensate temperature.
