However, some users don’t have any issue with getting website notifications while some hate it. If you are also among those who don’t like website notification, you can configure your browser, to stop receiving website notifications, accordingly.

The instructions of configuring your Safari, Firefox, or Chrome browser are given below for you. Go through the process thoroughly. You should not worry about the annoying ads and pop-ups at all.

How to stop website notifications on Chrome?

1. Open the Chrome browser on your PC and go to the upper right section. Find the three-dot menu icon over there and click on it. Then, choose Settings from the drop-down menu.

2. Now, keep scrolling down till you see the Advanced option. Once you see the option, click on it and then Site Settings option, which will be there right below the “Privacy and security” section.

3. You will see the Notifications option on the next screen. Click over there to move ahead with the process.

4. Hit the toggle button available right next to “Ask before sending (recommended).” Once you toggle on the given button, the text will get changed to “Blocked.”

However, if you wish to get notifications from a few selected websites, such as Gmail and Twitter, you can allow them through the settings page of Chrome. Here’s the process in detail:

* Hit the dedicated “Add” button, which is showcased right next to the “Allow” option.

* Type the URL of the website that you wish to whitelist now. For example, twitter.com/* or mail.google.com/mail*.

How to stop website notifications on Firefox?

1. Go to the top right section of the browser and click on the menu icon. Choose “Options” from the drop-down menu.

2. Then, select “Privacy & Security” from the menu.

3. Keep scrolling down till you see the “Permissions” section and hit the “Settings” button available right next to “Notifications.”

4. Now, click on the box next to “Block new requests asking to allow notifications.”

5. If you wish to remove websites that you have already allowed for notifications, check the list and then hit the “Remove Website” button. For removing all the whitelisted sites, hit the “Remove All Websites” button.

How to stop website notifications on Safari?

1. Launch Safari on your Mac and click on Preferences from the top menu bar.

2. Click on Websites and then the Notifications option from the left menu.

3. Each of the websites that asked for permission for alerts will be shown. Either you can allow or deny the permission accordingly.

4. Also, you get the option to uncheck “Allow websites to ask for permission to send push notifications” from the bottom section of the opened window.

Through the Notification Center of the Mac, you can even mute all notifications from Safari. Here’s the process:

1. Visit the System Preferences section and then select Notifications from there.

2. Choose Safari from the list and then None, which will be there right below “Safari alert style.” It is destined to affect the banners that will be showcased whenever you will get a notification.

3. Now, you can either uncheck one or all the options: “Badge app icon,” “Play sound for notifications,” “Show notifications on the lock screen,” and “Show in Notification Center.”

If you wish to silence the system temporarily, you can choose “Do Not Disturb” option showcased on the top left section. Then fill the time or situation accordingly for silencing all the notifications.
