by Georgia Lice Center Head Lice Removal Services in Cumming GA
Your kid’s friend, or your other child or someone from your kid’s school has reported about witnessing a problem with your kid’s hair and scalp and you are now worried that it may be head lice. While feeling concerned is how you would react, you must know that sometimes it is not what it seems to be. Instead of head lice, it can be difference.

But do you know how to spot and identify head lice, and when to say it is dandruff? What is the difference between these two that will lead to a conclusion? Before taking your child to a lice removal salon in Georgia, or wherever you live, it is important that you conduct a thorough test and identify exactly what the real issue is.

How to Tell the Difference Between Head Lice and Dandruff?

The first and foremost thing to do is to go through a thorough assessment of your child’s scalp and check what those sesame-seed size shite streaks really are. Is it dandruff? Is it head lice? Or is it just hair rubble?

Remember the basic difference between head lice and dandruff – lice eggs keep stuck to the hair shaft but not dandruff. Head lice are parasitic insects that look like yellow to white dots to the naked eye. When laid by female louse, the lice nits are caramel or grey in color. Dandruff is a type of skin eczema that is thick and flaky and is white to yellowish in color. It is caused when the skin overproduces oil.

To tell the difference, you must know that as dandruff is not glued to the scalp, unlike head lice, and therefore can be brushed off easily. But head lice cannot be easily brushed off. Dandruff is usually located over the scalp, but head lice are usually found behind ear and on the neck. This is why when the kid has lice, they would have symptoms of itching on their neck and shoulders, but with dandruff the head area is the place where one gets irritated. Head lice will be within one centimeter of the scalp, and if it is away then it is probably dead lice.

You need special lice shampoo, conditioning and specialized combs to pick out the lice from the scalp. And if the problem is of high degree then you need medical treatment.

So, when you spot white to yellow dots and particles, try brushing your hair intensively but in a genuine way. If its dandruff, it will be brushed but head lice won’t.

When you spot that your kid is having lice issue and ascertain the symptoms, it is better to take them to a lice removal salon in Georgia, or wherever you live, to get the problem resolved effectively and quickly.
