Steps to set up the QuickBooks company file

Step 1:Start with moving or reinstalling QuickBooks desktop to another system using migrator tool

On the old system

Move to the file menu from QuickBooks and select utilities tab and also select move QuickBooks to another system.
Select I’m ready and then create one-time password.

After that, follow the onscreen prompts to select the USB flash drive that will be used and then wait for the files to be copied.

On the new system

Insert the USB flash drive. Due to the windows security restrictions, the migrator tool won’t launch on its own.

Step 2:Move the company files to another system.

Follow the steps to create a backup company file on the original system.
Save the backup, and assign a name to it.
Save the backup company to new system. Either put the backup on a flash drive or an external device.
Pay heed to the prompts to restore the backup on the new system.
Download the latest tax table.

Step 3:Install QuickBooks desktop.
