If you are a university student you already know what I am talking about. How many all nighters have you pulled for the past 3 or 4 years in attempt to prepare for tomorrow's exam or to finish your presentation, or other projects? Personally, I have stayed all night a numerous times during my time at university and thus I think I can give you some useful tips on how to pull an all nighter successfully. So why don't you keep reading and find out the secret which every student should know.

First of all, when you decide to pull an all nighter make sure you rest well the night before that. If your course work is due Monday and you will have to be up throughout the whole Sunday night, then don't go partying on Saturday, but instead go to bed early. Also, if you can, try and have a nap prior to the all nighter. In this way you will feel much more refreshed and full of energy for the night. If you have many tasks to achieve throughout the night, I will advice you to write them down and prioritize them. Try to follow the plan and the schedule - this will also keep you refreshed.

Then, of course, the obvious is to drink some energy drinks, such as coffee or other energizers. However, don't overdo it, because caffeine works only for short periods of time and it's not really healthy for you. Instead, when you drink your coffee, don't make another one, but drink cold water. This will not only wake you up, but it will also make you go to the bathroom regularly, which means that you will move throughout the night.

One thing, that I will really advise you NOT to do is to study in a comfortable place like your bedroom. By this I don't mean to sit in the corner of your bathroom, but use the kitchen table or the desk in your room. But if you decide to pull an all nighter in your bed, I can tell you that you have failed already - your bed will only make you more sleepy and by 2-3 a.m. I can guess that you will be sleeping. Also to help yourself go through the night, stock up some light food, but definitely you should avoid sugar or heavy meals. Fruits, vegetables and light snack should do. Moreover, move out cleaning specialists from Melbourne suggest to take breaks every hour or so, or whenever you feel tired. So you can exercise, go for a short walk or even clean your room by putting the clothes in the wardrobe for example.

Finally, keep the room bright and if you have a really good friend that is up for an all nighter too - invite him. In this way you will motivate each other, and please don't start playing video games all night! As for the next day, drink some coffee and exercise to keep the blood running through your body and feel energized. Then, once the exam is over or you submit your work, go home and SLEEP!
