How to make ghee at home?

Ghee is a clear liquid that has had fats and oil added to it and thus has become known as Indian ghee. This is a simple and good quality cooking agent, which can be used for making curries, stir fry, or for cooking food in its pure state.

The substance is also popularly used in cooking to make a spread that tastes good as well as does not spoil the taste of the food. The ghee making process is time consuming but the result is so satisfying.

Making ghee at home is not very difficult and it is one of the very popular home recipes these days. You can easily prepare it in any of your favorite butter and heat it up to melt the butter. Now boil it for a few minutes until the milk solids get separated.

You can simmer it for a few minutes more to ensure that the flavor of the ghee is retained and also that the oil is infused with the right amount of flavor and aroma to make it a perfect condiment or marinade for your food. 

Once done, remove the ghee from the pan and strain in a glass jar and leave it to cool down to room temperature. Once it is room temperature, you can now add it to your dishes. You can now store this in a bottle or a container in a dark place away from direct sunlight. Whenever you are taking out ghee, use a clean dry spoon. This way you will be able to store it for a longer period of time.
