How to detect brain tumor at home?

A tumor is an abnormal generation of cells. When the process starts occurring in parts of the brain, it is medically referred to as brain tumor. Even if the condition is really rare in occurrence, it is not unknown.

Sometimes people experience some unusual bad headache. This is very common but sometimes it may also be a sign of serious illness. Those people who do not normally have a headache, an unusual headache can be an alarming sign.


Various symptoms can help diagnose brain tumor in its early stages.
  • Headaches
  • Seizures
  • Nauseated feelings
  • Being tired most of the times
  • Blurred vision

Although these are the most common symptoms, it might vary from person to person. One can face trouble concentrating, communicating or performing the various cognitive functions. It might happen so that the person might suffer from balancing disturbances, can be hearing impaired or that of speech.

Studies have shown that there can be proven behavioral changes in the person. Based on the position of the tumor in the brain, there could be a difficulty in controlling emotions or making reasonable decisions. It can also lead to various psychological changes and can cause depression and anxiety. Such situations can cause a damaging impact on relationships, professional life and many other problems such as stress and depression.

Looking up symptoms online can help ring a bell or two. However, it is recommended that medical advice is sought before arriving at any definite conclusion. Angiograms, brain scans, CT scans, MRI scans can help achieve results that are difficult to analyze with existing symptoms. However, these above-mentioned symptoms do not confirm the presence of a tumor as there are many other causes of these symptoms.  

Therefore, it is advisable that you should undergo a proper diagnostic routine so that you can get to the actual cause of these symptoms. 

Generic tests may involve one or more of the following:
  • Testing immediate reflexes
  • Strength of the arms or legs
  • Sensitivity
  • Memory and agility
  • Vision and hearing

The brain tumor is not incurable. These days medical science and technology are so advanced that it is possible to cure brain tumor if it is in initial stages.

  • Chemotherapy
  • Surgery
  • Radiation Therapy
