Business trips can either go very good or very bad, which can be caused by the kind of accommodation you booked or paid for. Accommodation can break or make your business trip. It can keep you focused or frustrated. That is why it is important to know some travel hacks on how to choose hotels for business trips. While on a business trip, your priority should be comfort, You need somewhere to relax, focus and be productive. That’s why I will be telling you everything you need to know about choosing a hotel for a business trip in this article, which will be discussed below.

Check Hotel’s reputation

Finding out the reputation a hotel has is very important. It helps you avoid hotels with bad services, facilities and amenities. It is very important to check the reviews of a hotel before booking. This way, you get to avoid having a terrible experience and being uncomfortable in your place of rest, which could make you unfocused, unproductive and less creative.

Go for hotels that have more positive reviews. Reviews are written by people who have had an experience with a particular hostel, which, most of the time, is trusted information.

Enquire about their business facilities

Another travel hacks for choosing a hotel for a business trip is to enquire about business facilities and check if the hotel has tools that can help you during your business trips, like such a business centre that has a photocopy machine, a printer, and computers. It also has to have  24/7 Wi-Fi services, phones and workspace in hotel rooms. These facilities will help you stay focused, creative and productive and also give you easy access to the things that need to be done for your business trip to go smoothly.

Find out if they have private drivers and shuttle service

Sometimes your meeting can run into the night, other times you might be in an unfamiliar environment, but having great transportation services from the hotel will help you avoid walking alone at night or wasting time finding your way to the location you need to be.

Instead of renting a car or using public transportation, check for the hotel’s shuttle services or find out if there are private drivers who can get you to your destination if you have to walk to a bus stop or get lost in an unfamiliar city.

Make a research on the area

Making research on the area has to do with checking the hotels that are near your meeting. It's important to stay close to where your business meetings will be held That way, you can easily commute back to your hotel or the meeting place even at night.

Also, try to stay where it doesn’t get lonely after the end of a business day, especially if you are a stranger in the city. It's important to stay in an area where things are still going on even when night comes.

Sanitation

How clean is the hotel? Is it an unhealthy place to stay at? Would staying there be bad for my health? These are things you have to ask yourself before booking a hotel. Try to find out their cleaning standards. How often do they clean the rooms? How often do they change the bed sheets? How often do they clean the toilet? These are things you need to look into, especially if you are going to be staying there for more than a week.

Having a dirty environment affects your productivity and can also cause health issues which could be detrimental to your business trip and your overall well being.

Meal-service

Spending hours at a meeting most times leaves you feeling hungry and drained, leaving you little energy to go food searching, but if the hotel has food that is at your convenience and easily accessible, you do not need to go far to fill your tummy. Look out for hotels that have a restaurant with different varieties of food with quick serving service where you do not have to wait hours to get your food.

If you are hosting a retreat, training or executive meeting where you want to feed the people that come for your meeting, it would be better for you to find a hotel with a restaurant that way you can liaise with them to feed your participants.

Security & other hotel amenities

You must know that you are going to be safe at your place of accommodation, you do not have to sleep with one eye open and you do not have to get scared of getting robbed. Check for hotels that have security guards, cameras and checkpoints.

Also, you need to have fun on your business trip. You should go to a hotel that has amenities such as a bar, club, golf courses, swimming pool etc where you can just have fun and relax.

Booking the perfect hotel helps make your business trip less stressful, less problematic and more enjoyable for you.
