How to backup your files from Dropbox

Once your account has been removed from Dropbox, you will no longer be able to login or access your cloud storage either from Dropbox website or mobile app. You will permanently lose access to your account and stored files. You may also lose the access to the offline files that you’re accessing through Dropbox app. Therefore, you must use a computer for backing up your Dropbox files to ensure that all your data is safely backed up. The steps given below will also work on Dropbox desktop website.

1.   Go to ‘Dropbox’ website through a desktop browser.

2.   After that, log in to your Dropbox account that you want to delete.

3.   Now, select all the files from the ‘Files’ tab that you don’t want to lose. Press and hold the ‘Ctrl/Command’ button and then click on each file and folder to select for download.

4.   After you select all the files, click the ‘Download’ button at the top. Before clicking it, once again check that you’ve selected all your important files.

Now, a ZIP folder containing all the files you’ve chosen will start downloading to your device, which may take time to download.

After your files are backed up successfully, you can proceed to remove your account with these steps. Since Dropbox doesn’t allow and provide any function to delete account from mobile app, you can’t use your Dropbox mobile app. You’ll need to use a superior browser to do so through your mobile.
