He Will Be Remembered “Philip Hughes”
Live is the most
important thing a man has, and there is nothing beyond that. But it is a
tragedy that even a sports like Cricket takes the life of a man. It’s the worst
thing which can happen to anyone. Sports is there to shatter boundaries and for
the expansion of love. But the worst thing is that if it takes a life of any
person. And the worst of the worst is when it takes a life of anyone who is in
the initial stage of his career. All the dreams, hard work is killed by a ball.
ALAS!
Injuries happen every
day in sports, players spend some time on the bed and they rise again. The
worst injuries take months to recover, but something happened which shock the
world. That happened with Philip Hughes of Australia four years back. Which
shocked everyone.
The Australian kid passed away because of a bouncer hitting
his head, has always been a topic of discussion for Australian cricket. The SCG
hosted the final test match for Australia against India, and the team was back
after such a long time to play on the same field where their team mate fell. The
black strips were all wrapped around their biceps. Tears were flowing when at
the time of the national anthem; Philip’s picture also appeared on the big
screen. And right in this match a magical and very emotional moment took place
when in the middle of an audacious innings, David Warner, opening batsman of
the Australian Cricket team turned the ball on his toes away from his hips down
to fine leg and took runs to make is score reach 63.
Now if you don’t know then number 63 has become totally
Philip Hughes, because that was the score he had when he fell down because of
the bouncer. Warner with what is called ‘A symbolic gesture to remember a
fallen mate’ went across the patch of turf where Hughes fell and lay
unconscious because of the ball delivered by Sean Abbott and kissed the spot
where his team mate fell playing the game he was really crazy for. After
delivering a kiss David got up immediately on his feet and looked upto the
heavens, and he put his palms together just like a praying position and shortly
after wiped away that were looking to be the beads of sweat on his forehead.
Warner was not alone in showing such gesture on a fine day of cricket, Chris
Rogers, Philip’s fellow lefthander also acknowledged his team mate after
reaching his fifth consecutive fifty by looking up the sky. At lunch Australia
were 123 without losing a wicket.
What happened with Philip is said to be the freak accident,
no one saw that coming but by the gestures of the Australian cricketers, we can
see that even though he’s not among his team mates. They plan to keep him alive
in their hearts, in their innings and in their lives, for years and years to
come.
