Ghee taste: Does ghee taste like butter?

by Mitun Mukherjee Milkio food product

Ghee is the semi-liquid form of the butter fat and it has a very high smoke point. But does ghee taste like butter? Ghee is derived from cow milk and is usually available in the form of cooking oil that is solid at room temperature but turns into a runny substance when it is heated. Ghee is most commonly used to season cooking curry and vegetables, but it is also widely used in a variety of recipes. It has a nutty flavor and smell and can be used as a taste enhancer, without imparting the flavor of smoke point.

There are a number of different answers to the question of how ghee tastes. For example, one answer might be that it has a neutral taste that goes well with most of the dishes. In my experience, ghee does have a flavor of smoke point to it, but it also has a flavor of its own - it is very distinct from butter and can even be used in place of butter in many recipes.

However, if you want to know how ghee tastes, you have to try it yourself. You cannot go wrong with using ghee when you are cooking - it really works wonders in many recipes, and even in many desserts. To learn more about ghee and what it can do for you, try some out!
