High cholesterol count is a common health issue among many. Those who are already suffering from high cholesterol count are often advised to avoid oily foods, junk foods, fries, and processed food items. Now ghee is 99% fat and 1% moisture. Is ghee cholesterol good for us? It’s a common question that comes to our minds. Ghee and cholesterol have a close relationship.

In a tablespoon of ghee, there are almost 8 grams of saturated fat and 33mg of cholesterol. It is 100% pure butterfat which contains no milk solids. Using a small amount of ghee in your daily diet has no bad effect on your cholesterol count. There are two types of cholesterols present in the human body -

  1. LDL (low-density lipoprotein)

  2. HDL (High-density lipoprotein)

LDL is mainly responsible for oxidizing cholesterol and causing severe damage to our arteries. It also increases the level of triglycerides, which is a type of fat in our body that circulates in the bloodstream. But having organic cow ghee in restriction on a daily basis may reduce LDL count and increase HDL count if coupled with an active lifestyle. Regular exercise is a must when having ghee in the diet.
