Ghanshyam Sarda wants to stand by the jute industry in distress and the Northbrook murder has been protested by him. 

The jute industry scenario in the state of West Bengal needs to improve very fast. Currently, the jute sector in the entire country is going through a very rough time. The recent murder of the CEO at the Northbrook Jute mill has taken the industry by storm. The incident at the Northbrook jute mill acts as a shock for the entire industry. The CEO was murdered in broad daylight by a horde of miscreants.  A variety of factors have led to the debacle in the industry. The industry is not having prospective buyers for jute bags and other items like before. A variety of new materials have come up in the market  which is providing a very tough competition to the industry.

 

Ghanshyam Sarda is one of the most high profile business leaders from the city of Kolkata. He has made a number of significant investments in the country over the year He completely supports the industry at this time of grave crisis. As one of the prominent business entities from the city, he wants the industry to come out of this problem quite fast. 

Currently, the state and central governments have not been able to provide good orders to the industry. Many of the jute godowns are stacked with goods but hardly have any buyers. It is also not possible to keep the jute materials for a very long period of time.

 Unionism has also played a key role for the crisis situation currently faced by the industry.  Multiple number of union leaders have come up who always interferes in crucial decisions surrounding the jute sector. When a vital decision needs to be passed in the jute mills, interference from political leaders is required. 

When you take a larger look at the jute industry, more than 12 lakh citizens are found to be dependant on it. But after the closure of the Northbrook jute mill the  workers have lost their jobs and their families are in distress. 

The members of the Ghanshyam Sarda Kolkata group are highly bothered about this significant problem which hampers the industry. New measures in the industry need to be taken at the earliest and the Sarda group plans to stand by all the workers. A  group of industrial leaders has been formed in this regard and a meeting with the chief minister of West Bengal has also been asked for.
