The stalemate in the jute sector has turned into a distress for the industry. Recently, the CEO at the Northbrook jute mill was brutally murdered. The murder at Northbrook jute mill has sent great shivers down the spine of the industry. The industry has not benefitted at all and witnessed a very heavy setback over the years. The central and state government has been hardly able to do anything for the benefit of the industry. There has hardly been any kind of investment for the jute sector and new ventures have not been initiated as yet.

The lack of orders has made the jute mill owners rethink their business ventures. Many of the jute mills in the industry have closed down. The entire industry is on the verge of closure and the jute industry leaders need to take a unified stand in this regard. An appointment with the current chief minister of West Bengal has been called for in this regard. The chief minister has been calling upon for industrialization in the state and matters need to be taken care of at the earliest.
