He has supported the jute industries of West Bengal to a great extent. The condition of the jute industries in the state was never been good for many decades. Jute though has many uses but in India people have always looked upon it as a neglected product.

 This is one of the reasons why there was always a low production in jute and jute goods since decades. But since the year 2012, when the United States of America passed a bill to import jute goods from India and some other south eastern countries, the jute industries began to produce more raw jute to meet the ever growing demands of these foreign countries.

 

This was the time when the Jute industries in the whole of India, especially in West Bengal, were declared as sick units, because of lack of skilled workers in the region, labour problems, problems related to their wages, bonuses and other perks etc.

 On one hand there were surplus export orders and on the other, there were production problems. This was a real bad situation for the jute industry and they all were fighting for its survival. In such circumstances, Sri Ghanshyam Sarda appeared as a Godfather to maintain a balance between the production process and growing demands of jute and jute products for the export market.

 

The first thing he did was financing the shortfalls in the jute industries of West Bengal. Next he resolved the problems that were associated with the labours in the jute mills. Most of their demands were met and things came down to mutual settlements.

 The production process was resumed and the quality of jute was improved to match the international standards and as a result of which the jute industries regained its position. Other than the jute sector, Sri Ghanshyam Sarda also did invest in some other business sectors, which included the grand monorail project in Kolkata, chemical industries, Information Technology sector, health care divisions, education, and sea food processing industry.
