Four Fun Projects For Your Leftover Cut Ceiling Tile

by Wendy Murphy Tech Consultant

One of the most significant advantages of using metal ceiling tiles for a project is that you can cut them easily. This makes them the ideal choice, as you can trim them to fit in any corner or crevice. Unfortunately, however, many people merely throw the tin scraps in recycling after making their cuts. Instead of throwing the leftover cut ceiling tile away, consider these xxx fun projects that you can make from leftover tile trimmings.

Ornaments

Instead of hanging dull decorations on the tree, you can instead take time as a family to decorate them. Everyone can purchase a large, blank ornament. They can then choose from the pile of leftover tin scraps to create the design they’d like. Remember that you can trim and paint the tiles. Once done, feel free to hang the ornaments in your favorite location!

Small Vases

Similar to the ornaments, it’s also possible to glue the leftover tin ceiling tile scraps to a small vase. Doing so could help you create a beautiful, rustic piece that matches the aesthetics of any room. Feel free to create a jar for every room in which you’ve utilized ceiling tiles. Accent pieces are an excellent way to help tie a room together and make it feel more comforting.

Picture Frames

Another fun family project to complete with tin ceiling tiles is a picture frame. Family members can choose a photo that they like and then head to the local craft store to purchase an appropriately-sized frame. We do not recommend buying an expensive frame, as you’re going to be redecorating it. After purchasing the frame, glue the tin ceiling scraps onto the frame any way you’d like! Picture frames also make for a great gift for a:

  • Friend

  • Spouse

  • Coworker

Headboards

If you have an abundance of tin scraps leftover, you may want to consider taking on a bigger project. Although completing this project could take some time, it could be well worth your while! Some of the most beautiful projects we’ve seen involving metal ceiling tiles have occurred when someone has glued their leftovers to an old headboard, turning a boring piece of furniture into something new and exciting.
