by Philip Smith Inbound Marketing Manager

Porcelain, glazed ceramic, and vitrified tiles are trendy flooring materials in homes and offices worldwide. Technically, they are made the same way. But since they are different products, we will discuss their features one by one. Check out the follow subsections –

Porcelain Tiles –

Porcelain tiles are a type of ceramic tile, that is stronger and has a higher density. Because of that, porcelain tiles are make a better and more reliable alternative to natural stones and regular ceramic tiles.

Porcelain tile has fewer or no pores on the surface. And that’s the reason why a large number of people consider them for their bathroom, kitchen, laundry, and outdoor areas. Porcelain tiles are stronger and more durable than ceramic tiles.

Glazed Ceramic Tile –

Ceramic tiles are made from clay, and glazed ceramic tiles have a glaze (a type of finish) applied on the surface. The glazing enhances the shine, water-resistance, stain-resistance, and smoothness of the tile.

They are more affordable than porcelain and vitrified tiles. Owing to their shiny glaze, the tiles make a great choice for small and dark areas like bathroom and kitchen. But they should not be used on bathroom floors, as they get excessively slippery when wet. You can use them for walls for sure.

Vitrified Tiles –

Vitrified tiles are also a type of ceramic tile that have been through a specific procedure called vitrification. The best part of these tiles is that, they have a very low (0.5%) porosity level.

These are tiles smooth and easy to maintain. They remain unaffected from dust and dirt.
