For those of you looking to buy liquid oral manufacturing plants

by Aesha Ahuja Pharma Machinery Manufacturers

Liquid manufacturing plants are the machinery used in the pharmaceutical industry for producing oral liquids. It manages the two critical factors which decide the quality of liquids: the minimum manual handling and the cleanliness standards during manufacturing. It also provides maximum benefits of manpower. It contains the following main physical components:

1. Sugar syrup vessel

2. Manufacturing vessel

3. Storage vessel

4. Control panel

5. Product piping

6. Working platform

This is how the working goes about:

1. From the feeding of sugar or water phase to loading the liquid oral manufacturing plant, the system comprises of a closed-circuit manufacturing facility.

2. The sugar and water are loaded either by a vacuum system or a mechanical system or manually.

3. The vessel containing the sugar syrup has a high-speed stirrer and electrical or steam heating facility depending on what the model is.

4. The sugar syrup is heated and prepared at the appropriate temperature before being transferred to the main vessel by a vacuum or a transfer pump.

5. During emulsion, the product is once again circulated through an in-line homogenizer or transfer pump.

6. The product is also discharged in the storage vessel.

7. This storage vessel is once again connected to the liquid transfer pump after it is taken to the filling area.  All the vessels remain fixed and then the pump transfers the liquid to the float tank.

8. All of this is handled by one personnel.

9. The liquid syrup manufacturing plant comes with and electrical panel and digital control board.

10. It must be noted that the plant conforms to the CGMP standards.

There are certain features that one must note are present in the machine as a good liquid manufacturing plant will have all of these components. They are:

·      It should be based on automatic processing so that the operator can custom-use it on the basis of the company’s requirements.

·      The manufacturing must be closed circuit, from the first till the last step.

·      A high-speed stirrer and an electrical heater to enable effective emulsion of liquids.

·      A vacuum pump so that the prepared syrup can be transferred to other vessels quickly and effectively.

·      The machine parts must be easily accessible to each other and must connect flawlessly.

·      The inter-connecting pipes are electro-polished.

·      There must be a platform that enables ease of use and convenience.

There are certain optional accessories that you must ask for. These are an in-line emulsifier, customized handling automation and SIP and CIP systems.

The machine usually has a very good filter press where unfiltered liquid is fed into the machine under positive pressure and then it travels downwards where it usually finds its way out of the open spaces on the sides. As the pressure increases, the filter holds out the unwanted particles and lets the pure liquid pass through. This process goes on until the filtering media is choked with residue or its capacity is reached.

What are the advantages that come with using a liquid manufacturing plant?

·      It is designed and approved by a recognized regulatory body (CGMP standards).

·      It is usually designed in a way that one individual can operate it.

·      It saves on human effort as well as the cost that goes into it.

·      Most of the machinery handling does not require human effort for most part, i.e. it is automatic.
