Foods you must eat in your trip to Kerala

Kerala is a place where one can get food that is fit for the Gods. A mixture of spices, some proportion of herbs, and the fresh produce helps in making a dish oh so delicious. They have a variety of recipes for every meat and vegetable. These recipes have been handed down from one generation to another and so the food of Kerala that you eat is the very food that was eaten in ancient times. These foods are available in the many resorts in Kerala. So do go to Kerala, see the wonders that it has to offer, and then eat all the delicious foods that it has to offer. Puttu and Kadala curry

Malayalees love to eat Puttu and Kadala curry. It is a cylindrical steamed cake with a rich and delicious looking brown curry. It is considered good for health as the Puttu is made of rice flour. The Kadala curry is nothing but chickpeas curry.

 

Idili sambhar with chutney

Another tasty treat to eat is the idili sambhar with chutney. It is used made from fermented rice. It is loved when it is hot to eat.

 

Appam and stew

These are a breakfast delight but can also be eaten during lunch and dinner time. The stew can be either chicken, mutton or fish curry.   

 

Idiyappam and egg curry

A dish that is unique to Kerala is idiyappam and egg curry. The idiyappam looks like white noodles and is very tasty to eat. It is made of rice flour, salt and water. Not only can it be had with egg curry but also chicken and mutton curry.

 

Nadan Kozhi Varthatu

This might be a mouthful to pronounce but tasty once inside the mouth. This dish is chicken fried with garlic, onions, and other special spices. You can have this with chappatis, appam or rice. This stuff is just too good.

 

Kerala Style Prawn Curry

Fresh from the sea and tasty to eat is the prawn curry. It is sprinkled with chilli powder, pepper and salt. It is then cooked in coconut milk and garnished with curry leaves. All this is only required to let you start craving for more.

 

Kerala Style Fish Molee

Fish Molee not only looks good but is good to taste as well. Cream-coloured fish pieces just waters your mouth and the golden colour curry looks pleasant to the eye.

 

Kerala has a lot of food that should never be missed. If you miss, then you have lost a wonderful opportunity to taste something that’s treasured by its people. Some delicious dishes are especially prepared in Kumarakom; a rustic place where you can get some of Kerala’s top class foods.
