English football fans might claim that English league is the best league in the world. And they might be right in saying so it's the most competitive league in all the world without a shadow of doubt. It's the league with one of the biggest revenues and the league where you just can't predict the winner.

The title unlike other league is contended by 2 3 or sometimes 4 teams. The teams are much more balanced than other leagues. Unlike some  other leagues where it's just one or two team dominating all the time.

Despite all the hype and good competition that English league provides the top English sides just have under performed in past 7-8 years. Although Chelsea were the champions in 2012 but we all know that it wasn't really convincing enough as event Chelsea's owner abrahamovic himself said openly.

In past 6 years only one English club has managed to win the UEFA champions league. Due to horrendous performances in the last 5 years the English message co efficient has decreased causing them to be facing a major set back of losing their forth champions league.

Numerous reasons can be thought of for the worst performances in UCL. The hectic schedule of premier league is the prime reason. Secondly, it is the league with the highest intensity. Games are much more open and sides play at full throttle.

One of the main reasons is lack of production of home grown talents. Due to that teams need  to have foreign players English football is losing  its  identity.

The top sides don't look ambitious enough to compete with giants like Madrid and barca. They lose their players to giants and are left at a mediocre level. Clubs also have been a lot unstable in past years. Manchester united are going through a transition period after the departure of sir alex. Liverpool could never get themselves out of the transition. Manchester city don't have enough experience and they choke in important stages of UCL. Chelsea just don't seem to find the right combination between a good team and a great manager.

Arsenal also are rising finally after the invincibles but heir consistency is always questioned.

English football needs to consider this situation and eradicate it find the solution to this problem as soon as possible and they have to go to  their roots for that purpose. Belonging in academy system producing home grown talent and running those players for a typical English style would be just  a beginning. Clubs need to hold on to their best players and make their sides stronger than last time. And the biggest thing that English clubs need to work hard rather than live on their past glories.

May be it's because of the absence of big names, in past they had big names like Zola, Crespo, Giggs, Ronaldo, Tevez along with many African Soccer Players like Kanu, Redebe, Fish and Drogba.
