If god ever meets me on earth, when he is hungry and asks me about a country where he can find biggest treasure of countless number of varied and tasty dishes .I will certainly name India the land of varied culture, varied languages and indeed very food .Mother of so many delicious cuisines, also preserves the heritage of foreigners, from Greeks to Mongols, from British to French, from Dutch to Portuguese. They all have left an influence on Indian food culture with their footsteps and made it richer. An indispensable part of this magnificent food legacy is south Indian cuisines. I will take you to a journey of few of the many delicious mouth watering south Indian starters.

 

Dal vada:-


Traditionally made from Bengal gram Dal or Chana Dal . British Food Recipe It is one of the most famous and favorite tea time snack of Tamils and Malayalees.Tea time snack is mandatory behavior of every household in India. Dal vada is getting more n more popularity every day. Various versions of Dal vada have been developed and implemented with time. One of very simple but effective variation is using more than one kind of Dal like moong and udad to increase its nutrional value. Crispy and salty in bit salty in taste nothing is more delightful than sitting in your verandah during rains and enjoying Dal vada with tea in cool breeze.

 

 Mendu vada:-


The Tamil and Keralite dish with irresistible aroma .Personally it’s my favorite .With the magic of its taste it has not only acquired a deserving place in south Indian thali but also a right full place in heart of every Indian. It is found in the fast food corners all over the sub continent. Any festival is incomplete without Mendu vada. Today it gives tough competition to other fast foods on streets of Mumbai the city of dreams. Made from udad Dal it is a soft and round dumpling resembling a donut. It tastes amazing with coconut chatni or sambar. Available in every restraint or corner all over India

 

Appam:-


Who said tasty is not healthy?


From centuries appam is challenging this myth .A pan cake like dish made from fermented rice flour batter and slightly sweet in taste. It is healthy and has an irresistible temptation. Various variations of appam are available the one with yeast or toddy, a slightly more sweeter appam is called kallappam. Basically it is a Syrian Christian dish

 

Kaya varathatu:-


The banana chips that you must have relished so many times during travelling or used to satisfy your hunger and taste buds when nothing else was available, yes it is Chapati Side Dish Recipe delicacy. A little sour flattened round banana chips sprinkled with optimum amount of salt is a treat to tongue. Best thing about it is that you can eat it any time without anything and practically available almost everywhere in packaged form. It has now mixed so much with every part of India that its surprising to many that its keralite

 

Pazham Pori :-


Also known as ethakappam rules the street of kerela .It is a banana fritter made of ripened banana (plantain) called nedrapazzam.Made by dipping long banana slices in sweetened liquid of maida rice flour wheat flour etc. Rice flour makes it crispier.
