David Beckham: The Retirement of One Great Football Player

 David Beckham retires from football16th of May was a sad date for the football fans and especially for David Beckham fans. On this date the famous British football player announced that he is going to retire from professional football as soon as this seasons ends. So, Paris Saint-German will be the last professional club he played for. For his last game he was given unique boots designed specially for him in the colours of the Union Jack. The boots had the names of his children and his wife. The match was a home game against Brest and he was a captain of course. Furthermore, David Beckham assisted to Matuidi who scored a goal after a corner kick. After 80 minutes of play David Beckham was substituted and he received applause from the whole stadium and hugs from his teammates and manager.  Ultimately Paris Saint-German won the match 3:1.

 David Beckham is a player loved by millions of people all over the world. He played for some of the best football teams in the history. His home club is Manchester United were he came to fame. He was part of the team during some of the best years of this club managed by Sir Alex Ferguson. David Beckham announced his decision in front of his ex teammate in Man U Gary Neville for Sky Sports News. He had an offer from his current team to extend his career with 1 more year, but he turned it down. All in all he finishes his career with a championship title and this is definitely a perfect end for such a great player. In the interview with Gary Neville, Beckham explained that it was difficult to take this decision, because he feels that he can still play at top level. He admitted also that at some point his popularity took the focus away from his football career and this was a very difficult period. When he was asked when he took the decision for his retirement, he made a joke that the idea came to him at the home game against Barcelona when Messi was running past him.  

 The retirement of David Beckham is the end of truly superb football career. He won the titles in some of the strongest championships in the world including numerous cups with Manchester United, titles with Real Madrid in Spain and so on. Also he still holds the record for making 115 international appearance as an outfield player.
