Color Exploration in Web Designing Trends

by Kiran Kumari I am a blogger

When it comes to the visual design trends, color has taken a center stage. The expressiveness and visual strength of colors to draw users has compelled many designers to use it as a focal design element, majorly highlighting it above other content elements and images.  Traditional white backgrounds are being replaced with big masses of color and unlimited palettes which are not limited by any one dominant tone. Strong contrasts of vibrant complementary colors create a visual impact that helps the website stand out.  Different styles used in contemporary graphic designing portray a progressive movement, often repeating in the cycle. Similar to other fashions, they keep coming back, changing radically between minimalism and rational functionality to more transgressive and exploratory visual manifestations. Let’s have a look at the latest visual design trends:

Vibrant Colors Modulated By Neutrals:

Gone is the era dominated by soft pastels. Today, we are witnessing the emergence of striking colors and pairings that are less about harmony and more about making an impact. It’s about different ranges of vivid colors comprising no adjacent tones. Generally, vivid colors when softened by neutral or muted colors help direct the attention to where it is required the most.  Solid colors are usually utilized for this purpose. It’s also not uncommon to see isolated notes of luminous colors that are great at capturing attention.

Color Blocking:

Color-blocking has been in vogue since the 1960s. The trend can be traced back to the work of the Dutch painter Piet Mondrian. It comprises of an exploratory combination of bright bold colors along with their complementary colors.  While the colors need not be the exact opposites on the color wheel, they need to have a strong contrast between solid color areas to find interesting combinations.

More Colors in the Palette:

By creating a standardized color palette, a visual language that is a representation of the brand or product can be created in any media. Traditionally, the color palettes had been small, comprising just one or two principal colors. Presently, elaborate design systems are in trend. This has contributed immensely to the importance of colors, taking the palette farther away than it was.

Getting Contrast with Typography:

When typography is used as a graphic element, color finds its expression independently from the communicative value of a text. Backgrounds and texts play around with complementary or high contrast colors which will eventually help to switch in graceful animation sequences.

Reputed website designing companies make effective utilization of colors to bring an element of interest.
