Clarified butter vs ghee: How to compare them?

by Mitun Mukherjee Milkio food product

Ghee and clarified butter both are made from the same milk butter. People who love to have ghee in their diet already know how healthy ghee is. But what are the differences between ghee and clarified butter? The clarified version of butter is highly nutritious and loaded with essential vitamins and nutrients. Clarified butter vs ghee is an important product comparison.

Here are the differences between ghee and clarified butter -

  1. Ghee is brown in color and granular in texture. This is because ghee is the clarified version of butter which is prepared by boiling butter until the milk solids are caramelized.

  2. On the other hand, the clarified butter-making process is also the same but here the milk solids are separated. After the lactose and casein are separated the mixture is strained through a cheesecloth.

  3. Ghee has a nutty undertone while clarified butter has a milky aroma that comes due to the presence of the milk solids.

  4. Clarified butter is completely free from artificial flavor and color.

You should always buy organic ghee for the best results. Contact your local organic food retailer to buy organic cow ghee. Both are nutritious and offer the same health advantages. This was all about clarified butter vs ghee.
