Build Your Digital Presence with Explainer Videos

by Neha Sharma Digital marketing head
This digital era has turned us into netfreaks, with social media continuing to influence our professional and personal lives. Social media and search engines play an important role in communication between businesses, across industries. Thus engaging and explainer videos can turn your blooming business venture into an online sensation in few weeks.
However, the internet is also a good place for scandals to spread easily. All it takes is a few shares to disintegrate your brand reputation. Your online reputation can either make or break your business in the long run. Nearly 92% online customers read reviews when looking for a local business out of which 42% won’t deal with a business with less than 3 star rating. 68% form an opinion after going through top 5-6 reviews. That’s what makes online reputation management so important for all of us.
What is Online Reputation Management?
Defining your brand’s online reputation is hard. It is usually scattered amidst search result pages, online review sites, your social media pages, news articles, blogs about your brand, or comments on your website. Putting up videos online also adds on to your ORM.
These comments, reviews and criticisms will often be unfriendly. Your job is to supervise what’s happening around you and take necessary actions accordingly to prevent anything that damages your brand image. Try to maintain a positive presence right from the beginning.
1.Find Out Your Position
One of the initial stages of Online Reputation Management involves understanding your brand image. And the best way to look for what others are saying about your brand, is to google it. You can also keep an eye on what people are talking about your brand, product, or any relevant keyword related to your industry, on social media. Always be aware of what your competitors are doing.
2. Analyze
Once you know your position, it is easier for you to take the necessary steps to improve your reputation. But before anything else you have to figure out why some people are talking negatively about your brand. Sometimes talking about controversial topics, taking sides or even supporting a cause can create huge problems.
3. Be Upfront
The brand-customer relationship that you have built till date could play an important role in bringing things together again. Do not hide away, address your criticism openly. Remember, hiding will only raise more questions. If there has been a mistake at your end, apologize and rectify it. In most cases a prompt response can help calm the situation. But if the allegation brought against you is fake, you can politely ask the person to take it down. If politeness doesn’t work, take legal steps.
4. Build Your Online Presence
Marketing and PR are the two key drivers of your business. They help in building brand awareness, reputation and can either make it or break it. If you haven’t been active online, it’s high time you start reinforcing your online visibility now. The right marketing strategy and PR tactics can help in communication.
5. Incorporate videos
Today, videos are in vogue. Be it for a business or personal, promotions or just for fun, everyone wants to see videos. For which a lot of new video making agencies have come forward to help us create videos online. Videos shoot up your brand visibility and make it easy for you to communicate with your prospects.
Your brand’s online reputation is a strong and a fragile weapon at the same time. One wrong step can be the reason behind your misery. Always be aware and well informed. Research well before taking any new step and if anything goes wrong, take charge of it and solve the problem and don’t forget to incorporate more and more videos online on your websites or other social media handles. Make sure you turn your customers into advocates.
