Acne is otherwise known as Acne vulgaris. This term refers to a group of skin conditions that leads to most acne pimples. Acne is basically categorized into two main types, namely- inflammatory acne and non-inflammatory. Acne may be described as severe, mild or moderate. Acne can cause enough pain even when it ranges from mild to severe. Acne has the capacity to cause unsightly outbreaks on the back, chest, face and sometimes even arms. When acne does not get proper treatment, people can suffer from diminished self-esteem, scarring and even long-term hyperpigmentation. Experts have found that some common factors that cause acne are changing hormone levels, lack of sleep, stress and Genetics.

Acne may have various types and characteristics. It may include:

1. Non-inflammatory acne— it is generally characterized by blackheads and whiteheads but not cysts or nodules.

2. Inflammatory acne— it is usually caused by small infections because of P. Acnes bacteria.

3. Cystic acne, otherwise known as nodulocystic acne—it is an intense form of acne that may result in huge, inflamed cysts and nodules which sometimes appear on the skin.

4. Acne Fulminans— a severe form of inflammatory acne that usually affects adolescent males on jaw, chest and back.

5. Acne Mechanica— it is triggered by excess heat, pressure and friction. Often, you can see that it may affect athletes where there is small bumps and some inflamed lesions.

Signs & Symptoms of Acne

The symptoms of acne usually tend to depend on the specific type of acne that one has along with the underlying cause of the skin irritation/inflammation. Usually, it has been noted that the common symptoms that lead to acne include-

Blackheads- 
Blackheads are sometimes seen as small black dots on the skin that usually appear around the nose, chin or forehead. Some may also call it comedones as it stems from debris that get trapped inside a follicle.

Whiteheads-
Whiteheads usually can form when pus forms under the skin and develops into a head. These may result from follicles that often get plugged with dead skin cells and sebum.

Papules and pustules –
Papules and pustules are a technical name for pimples. you can see them being small or medium sized bumps on the skin. These are shaped in round, red and may not always have a head for people to see. Its been found that the types of these pimples are moderate sorts of acne and nothing severe.

Cysts or nodules-
When Cysts or nodules occur, pimples happen that are infected and painful. They may take place within deeper layers of the skin. For some, it maybe swollen or tender and take a long time to heal.

Its certain that acne may cause enough trouble to a person suffering. Some people may have it on their face while others have it in their body. Although it seems as a difficult skin disorder, it can be easily sorted when you get acne treatment. There are several natural ayurvedic remedies that you can use. Here we are going to discuss them.

1. Tea Tree Oil
Acne works well with tea tree oil, otherwise known as melaleuca. It is used as an antiseptic in order to treat wounds. It has amazing capacity to fight bacteria and fungi. For acne, it would be a great natural remedy.

2. Holy Basil 
The oil or the natural extract of Holy basil has a great tendency to fight acne caused by bacteria. It is given a lot of importance in ayurvedic treatment for skin as well as body treatment. When you drink herbal tea made from basil or tulsi, your blood gets cleaner and it helps to balance hormones naturally.
