Markets such as Karol Bagh and Chandni Chowk are original trading hubs of Delhi. Delhi is famous for many things. The fact that it is a capital city and has a representation from almost all the States of the country makes it special. One can find almost anything in the city, even things that may be unique to some particular region or state. Most tourists on a trip to Delhi have shopping as one of the major things to do while in the city.
Some of the popular places to shop in Delhi are Connaught Place, Karol Bagh, Chandni Chowk, Rajouri Garden, South Extension, Lajpat Nagar, Greater Kailash Part I, Dilli Haat, Khan Market and Sarojini Nagar. These markets have been very popular among the Delhi people for past many years. They still remain one of the most liked destinations when it comes to shopping. Janpath in Connaught Place and Dilli Haat are one of the best places to shop in Delhi for souvenirs. They are also famous for silver jewellery shops. Connaught Place also has several state emporiums that are popular especially among tourist. Many states have set up their emporium at Connaught Place. Chandni Chowk is the oldest and one of the largest markets of the city. There are many smaller bazaars within Chandni Chowk. There are ‘whole sale’ as well as retail shopping outlets here.
