Best Places for a business trip
Travelling for business is a great way to get the best of both worlds – furthering and enhancing your career while also getting out of the office and collecting new experiences. There are a lot of great places around the world to visit casually, but if you’re hoping to bring together business and pleasure in one place then these are the places you need to see:
London, UK
London is one of the biggest business hubs in Europe as well as one of the best financial centres in the world. London is one of the best places to conduct business for many reasons and in general, it is an incredible place to visit. While you won’t often get blue skies and the sunshine, London has its own romantic charms. Around the centre of London, you’ll find world-famous architecture, monuments and landmarks and many of them can be found at London’s central business hub. London can also boast excellent entertainment, restaurants and nightlife that you would be proud to show your clients and co-workers. Just make sure to get a make of the underground if you’re planning to take the train from London, otherwise, you’ll end up joining the rest of the poor, lost tourists to be found in London’s train stations.
Paris, France
Some of the biggest companies in the world have made a home in Paris and many start-ups that have achieved global success had their humble beginnings in the French capital. Paris is the city of love and the city of business. One of the great things about business trips in Paris is that everything is right outside your front door. In between business meetings you could very easily take a wander and see some beautiful parts of Paris, as opposed to London where it can take you quite a walk to get out of the business centre. If you’re looking to do a bit of work on the go you can also find a lot of great cafes with free Wi-Fi and the Parisian culture allows you to sit there and sip your coffee for as long as you’d like without being hassled by the staff. Another great thing about Paris is that, if you live in Europe, you can qualify for free health insurance while you’re there. All you have to do is apply for an EHIC and you'll receive basic coverage for the duration of your trip.
Singapore
Singapore is incredibly successful, both in terms of tourism and its financial centre. It’s an almost idyllic place to visit during certain times in the year and the multicultural population means that you won’t ever feel unwelcomed. Explore all of the cultural streets and areas while you’re there and explore some of the museums to learn more about Singapore’s fascinating history. There are many beautiful gardens to visit during your down time as well as luxury resorts and hotels where you can treat your clients and colleagues to 5* experiences. You also shouldn’t forget to explore some of the more laidback areas of Singapore while you’re there for an authentic experience, like the hawker centres and open-air markets, to grab some great food.
