by Pravin Dwivedi Digital Marketing Expert

With the advancement in technology, coding for kids has become a necessity. In everyday life, we come across various solutions dealt with IT, coding. In this blog, I am going to guide you to make your kid learn to code efficiently. It is never too early to teach cool stuff like coding.

Programming is a creative activity, and kids can easily fit in the structure if taught at a tender age. Even if you do not know how to code, you do not need to worry at all. You can find various tutorials available online starting from the very beginner level and even you can also learn along with your kid or you can look for professional courses for kids available in the market to help your kid learn and grow with the right effort and expertise.

Tips to Teach your Kid Coding:

  1. Start from Scratch

As you are now ready with the thought to teach so, do not stop, and start from scratch coding online for kids. Scratch is a beginner-friendly programming tool by MIT that can run over any web browser. You can use this link for reference.

     2. Implement

It is easy to conceptualize but hard if you do not implement whatever you learn. While teaching your kid coding, you should not just show them things and talk concepts, instead show them the actual code so that they can visualize what is going in the background. Programming is a fun and intellectual activity that requires hands-on experience to master.

     3. Programming Projects

Kids like games, right? Why not choose a gaming project to teach them coding? Doing projects while learning to code is the best practice to master this art and compete with the worldly advancements. The basic game to start with is “Tic Tac Toe”. Most of you might have played this game on pen and paper, so it is time to teach and play differently.

     4. Avoid Doing it All By Your Own

Avoid doing it all by yourself! Please take it as a warning for now because programming is not to show things, but it needs the practical implementation of every code you learn. Let your kids do things on their own so that they can find their mistakes or maybe add something new to show their creativity.

     5. Offer Reward

No doubt, everyone is happy receiving a reward. Reward your kids for every new project they complete. In this way, they will find it more enjoyable to invest time in this activity and learn efficiently.

Where to Start?

Confused, where to start? There are several programming languages available in the market, you have to choose wisely for kids.

Start with simple HTML and CSS, moving forward with a core language like C++, Python, Java. I would recommend Python to choose as it comes with numerous built-in libraries and can run with minimal lines of code if we compare with other languages.

Here is a list of coding-programming resources for kids: Minecraft, Scratch, Kids Ruby.

Make Google and Youtube Your Children’s Best Friends

There is n number of resources available on google and youtube to learn anything or everything, the only thing required is the right direction to start with. Show your kid how google and youtube can be their friends in teaching them lots of things like dancing, drawing, writing, and of course this new art “Coding”.

You have come a long way reading this, you are now ready to deal with your kids to begin a new chapter of coding, which is not limited to learning yet a lifetime experience. Find resources by searching on google wherever you wish to start from or hire a home tutor for expert training.
