Air Conditioning Not Blowing Cold?

by Kevin Smith Author

There are many parts that go into an air conditioning unit. It is important to identify the problem quickly so the company can keep operating. Many companies have to shut down if the AC unit goes out. Generally, when the air coming out is no longer cold, it’s because the unit needs a Trane evaporator coil replacement.

What Is an Evaporator Coil?

The evaporator coil plays the crucial role of cooling the air. The refrigerant is pushed through the coil as a liquid. Then air is blown over the coils transferring the heat to the refrigerant, turning it into a gas. This process also cools the air making the system work so that the air temperature inside a building can be regulated. The refrigerant now in a gas state is put back into a compressor to be turned back into a liquid. This process goes around and around providing constant cool air.

What Happens to the Coils?

The coils can get damaged over time and stop working. It is usually due to a leak that they break altogether. When the coils start to leak then the refrigerant seeps out until there is no more refrigerant left. When this happens the air keeps the heat and moisture and the unit is no longer effective. It is important to pull the coils out and check them if the system is no longer working. If they are leaking, they should be replaced as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, they wear out just like any other part would because there is constant flowing fluid through them.

What to Do?

The first thing to do is to figure out what part it is that is needed. Once the part has been identified a distributor needs to be chosen so the part can be ordered. There are many distributors available. Some of the companies offer better quality and better warranties on their products. It is also important to look at the time it takes to get the part shipped. Sometimes it can take months to get the right part shipped to the company. Lastly, it is important to find a distributor that will offer the best prices. This will save money and time in the long run. When looking for a Trane evaporator coil replacement, remember to consider the price, the lead time, and the brand quality available at the distributor that is chosen.
