Abhijit Joshi led Veritas legal help Lenskart raise 400 Cr
Abhijit Joshi is the Founding Partner
of Veritas Legal. He was the senior partner and chief executive officer (CEO)
at AZB & Partners until November 2104. He has been involved in some of the
major landmark deals, such as the Rs 5,150 crore Tech Mahindra - Satyam
Computer Services merger, Usd 2.6 billion Tata -Docomo transaction among many
others
Lenskart has raised a Series D
round of investment of 400 crore from World Bank arm IFC along with the
existing investors – TPG Growth, Adveq Management, IDG Ventures. Ratan Tata and
Kris Gopalakrishnan (founders of Infosys) also participated in this round.
IFC has invested 171 crore as the
lead investor in this round, reports Mint. BMR Legal acted for Lenskart and its
Promoters with a team led by Partner Amit Khansaheb along with Principal Rishi
Jain and Managing Associate Tejas Patel.
AZB & Partners acted for its
long standing client – IFC, with a team led by Partners Gautam Saha and Shuchi
Sinha along with Senior Associate Devanshu Sajlan. Independent General Counsel
Archana Rajaram acted for Unilazer, IDG and Adveq.
Veritas Legal acted for TPG Growth
and the team included Partner Abhijit Joshi, Senior Associate Kunal Doshi and
