Image Children always look forward for picnics whether it is on small scale or large. Organizing a picnic as per the place and the venue helps in avoiding any misses and errors. Making a checklist for such occasions is always helpful.

In case you planning a picnic after a parade or a hike or any other such event, ensure that children are well fed before you leave. Give them a breakfast or a small meal which lasts long. This would help your children enjoy the picnic without getting hungry or grumpy soon into the outing. A nutrient bar is the best to have handy in such cases. If your child feels very hungry in short intervals give them a snack to carry in their pocket.

2. Carry Sun Protection:
Sun Hats, sunglasses, sunscreen lotion, long sleeved but light weight shirts are the best accessories to be carried along to avoid sun exposure and a sun burn. It is advisable to carry sun protection with a minimum of 30 SPF, to beat the heat. Carrying umbrellas can also help. One should be prepared to face the heat. Hot weather should not be a cause of spoilt picnic or irritable mood.

3. Carry Enough Water:
Carrying bottles with ice packs and reminding children to drink in frequent intervals is essential to keep the hydrated. One can also carry power drinks to keep that energy charged. Frozen bottles can be stored in picnic baskets or coolers. Ice cold water, right after they melt, would feel great after a complete day of staying outdoors.

4. Pack Food in Air-Tight or Vacuum Boxes:
Whenever you are on a picnic, remember to use a packing container that you can also use as your eating container. Ensure you use reusable air-tight boxes that are wider than deep. They help in saving space and allowing you to carry with you a variety of food items. Avoid carrying loose food or food that is oily. They spill in the basket and spoil the remaining food items.

5. Carry First-Aid Kit:
With any outdoor event especially where kids are involved, first aid boxes are extremely essential. Ensure pain-killers, band-aids, relief sprays and other essential medicines are .e part of the kit. In case of any major injury at a parade or trailer park, take the necessary medical measures that contact a personal injury lawyer immediately to ensure a just claim settlement. If the picnic is at far off destination, one can choose to have contact details of nearest doctor or a hospital to avoid any delays.

6. Plan Simple Games:
Arrange for activities that can keep kids occupied and entertained. This is possible by organizing and planning few games from before. Spoon and lemon, wheel barrow race, potato sack race or one legged races are good options. To make it more fun plan games with lots of yelling, screaming, hopping and lots of energy. If the picnic is at a beach carry a sand tool kit and arrange for castle competition. Arrange games as per the age of the kids.

7. Clean-Up Preparation:
It is also important to carry items which help in maintaining hygiene and cleanliness. Few hand towels, natural hand sanitizers, wet-wipes, reusable bags along with few empty bags to dump in wasted food or wet clothes. Ensure you teach the kids to keep the surrounding neat and clean.

If you plan the picnic with the essentials mentioned above, it will go smoothly without any miss. Such planning will bring a great difference to an exciting picnic.
