by GreeniumIndia India Greenium

Indoor plants introduce texture and color to your interior space. Indoor plants work as a focal point of a room. If you want to enhance the look of your living room, then pairing pots and plants is very helpful. Choosing the right Pot for your plant is a bit challenging.

If you pick too large a pot, then the plant may be susceptible to root rot as the soil dries slowly, and if you go for too small pots, you will need to water frequently as the soil dries very fast, a plant can be root bound.

If you have a large plant, choose the Pot of the same size in which it is growing and when you report a smaller plant, take a pot 2-4 inches larger in diameter. Some indoor plants grow quickly. Select the largest size pot for them, and for slow-growing indoor plants, you can take 1 to 2 inches larger Pot.

Plastic and CERAMIC POTS are available easily. Plastic pots are lightweight, pocket-friendly, and colorful. Plastic is suitable for hanging baskets for plants on a wall shelf. Water the plant less frequently as PLASTIC POTS retain moisture.

Terracotta pots are fragile, but they offer beautiful patterns and are also heavier than plastic pots. You will need to water more frequently as these pots are porous. The plants that like dry or well-aerated soil, terracotta pots are perfect for them.

Pots should have a drainage hole at the bottom to allow water out and air in. Using a pot is not only a matter of aesthetics but also the size and shape; when you choose the right Pot and potting mix, it provides the direct result with your plant.

If you are serious about growing healthy plants, whether indoors or outdoors, consider this thing. The soil works with water in your Pot. You will have to understand how water and soil interact under different conditions in Pot.

The size of the Pot with the soil mix determines how much air and water your plant's roots get. Indoor plants are living accessories that add texture and colour to your space.

Small Pot versus large Pot

Two large pots make your plant more susceptible to root rot because the soil dries very slowly, and a large plant with a small pot has a tendency to tip over. Soil dries very quickly in a small pot, so you will have to water frequently enough.

The same size pot is preferable for a large plant, and choose 2-4 inches larger Pot in diameter when transporting the plant. Select the most significant size pots for quick-growing plants, while for slow grower plants, 1-2 inch larger pots are good.

The most popular pots are Terracotta, plastic, or clay. Plastic pots are lightweight, low-cost, and colorful; they retain moisture for a long time, so there will be no need for frequent watering.

Terracotta pots are costly but offer beautiful patterns. They are porous, so you will need to water them more frequently for plants that like dry soil like succulents, cacti, and orchids; Terracotta is a perfect choice.

Pots should have a drainage hole at the bottom because indoor plants don't thrive in standing water; drainage holes allow water out and air in. If you want to choose a pot without a drainage hole for decoration, then you can use the technique of double potting.

Terracotta

The earthen color of Terracotta pots looks great anywhere and enhances the beauty of any plant. They are available in a variety of shapes and sizes. Terracotta pots are made of porous clay rich in iron which can breathe. It keeps the potting soil cool and keeps them healthy. But they are fragile and can dry out rapidly in Sunny locations.

Plastic

If you have plants that eventually grow covering the pots, then plastic is a good choice. Plastic pots are durable, retain moisture, and are inexpensive. If you have to rearrange your gardens, plastic pots are an excellent choice because they are lightweight. Don't use Dark coloured plastic pots as they absorb heat and damage the roots; light-colored pots reflect the heat and keep the roots cool.
