The year 2018 has brought a lot of good fortunes for film actor Ranveer Singh. His performance is appreciated by both the public and critics.  Recently he got married to his longtime girlfriend Deepika Padukone. A couple of years ago he also starred in the movies helmed by Aditya Chopra, this was his (Aditya’s) first directorial without Shahrukh Khan.

Ranveer Singh had two releases this year, he began with Padmavat, which created a lot of controversies, but his performance was appreciated by everyone. Playing

Alauddin Khilji, he went into the skin of the character. He ended the year with mass blockbuster Simba, which released in the last week of December with packet houses,

1. Bittoo, (Band Baaja Baarat, 2010)

He made his debut under Yashraj Productions, In this film, he played the next-door-boy from Delhi and nailed it to perfection. His average looks worked in the favour of this project as people felt the guy was one among them. His chemistry with Anushka Sham’s character was spot on and the film went on to become a sleeper hit.
 

2. Ram, (Goliyon Ki Raaslela Ram-Leela, 2013)

This was his first collaboration with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. This was the film when the audience noticed unshakable energy that he brought to screen. His chemistry with Deepika Padukone brought the screen to life. The tale of two lovers amidst rivalry and bloodshed was depicted very nicely.
 

3. Peshwa Bajirao (Bajirao Mastani, 2015)

The sizzling chemistry of Ranveer and Deepika was made this film an instant hit. Ranvir played the Maratha warrior Peshwa Bajirao Ballad, who fell in love with a courtesan. His looks and dialogue delivery made the character feel real. He hard works for physical transportation and learning the accent of Marathas was quite evident in the film, it was one of the most successful films of that year.
 

4. Kabir Mehra (Dil Dhadakne Do, 2015)

This film had an ensemble cast including Anil Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar and Anushka Sharma among others. His character in the movie was standout despite such huge star cast. Playing a dizzy guy stuck amidst a dysfunctional family, he brought emotions in the character to make it look real and relatable.

5. Alauddin Khilji (Padmavat, 2018)

A lot has been said about his portrayal of Alauddin Khilji in this Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial. There are multiple arguments about fact and fiction associated with this saga. But, none can deny the efforts of Ranveer in playing this, one of the most challenging roles in his filmography. He looked menacing; he acted so well that the hatred towards the character was inevitable.
