Tel Aviv is the 2nd largest city in Israel after Jerusalem. The name "Tel Aviv" is translated as the "Hill of Spring."

The city is full of life, and only 1 weekend isn’t enough to experience its unique atmosphere. If you want to see most of the attractions of Tel Aviv in few days, you should think about renting a car. It will not only save your time, but also solve all your transportation problems.

Frishman beach

Location: 32.08072, 34.767173
Journey time: 22 min
Here and in the following attractions “journey time” means how much it takes to get to the attraction from Ben Gurion Airport.

This famous beach is located in Tel Aviv at the end of the street of the same name. You can enjoy swimming in warm and clear water, soaking up the sun, playing volleyball and doing other outdoor activities. But don’t forget to take a look at the flag flying over the beach, because its colors have special meanings. If the flag is white, you can safely swim, but red color means that sea is dangerous, and finally, black color forbids swimming even for experts. Whatever the weather is you can visit some nice cafes and clubs on Frishman beach.

Palmach museum
Location: 32.104907, 34.799032

Palmach is the name of the Jewish combat unit, which was the part of the Israel Defense Forces.  It is an experimental interactive museum that provides information in an innovative way, not as in other museums. You won’t find here any usual museum halls with exhibits! The Palmach museum offers you the opportunity to feel the difficult path of Jewish heroes towards becoming the Israeli state. Walking through the halls, you are immersed in the distant 1940s, through the 3D films, projections and special effects.

Israel Defense Forces History Museum
Location: 32.059809, 34.763443
Journey time: 24 min

This museum has a great collection of weapons and military vehicles which were used by the Jewish self-defense units and the Israel Defense Forces. There is a small board with the names of people who received the highest award – the Hero of Israel. All exhibits have English description. The museum will be interesting even for small kids, because they like to climb on numerous tanks and other military vehicles.

Park Hayarkon
Location: 32.105189, 34.811455
Journey time: 20 min

The main park of Tel Aviv, Park Hayarkon, occupies a vast space (380 hectares). Here are beautiful green lawns, bike paths, botanic gardens, playground for sport exercises and even the ancient fortress of Tel Afek. Feed swans or just lie with your favorite book in the shade of trees! The park is especially wonderful in the evening when local music groups come here to play lovely songs. Park Hayarkon is a really nice place for relaxing after long excursions in the museums.
