Currently, this trend is focused on younger shoppers, as asking your phone questions on the street isn’t the conventional way of shopping online for older generations. But optimising your online store to match up with voice search might be key to keeping your website healthy in the eyes of Google and in turn, to your customers. It will take a lot of research and potentially hiring someone for the work, but optimising your website to show up for relevant searches is only going to help your brand. It might not be a rush for you currently if your target market is 30 and over but if you want to stay currently this is the way search is moving forward.

Though there will always be a market for those looking for affordable options, more and more people are looking for luxury brands they want to purchase from. Buying quality over quantity for everything from designer childrenswear to furniture has been a trend over the past few years and 2019 is showing further increases from it. The luxury good trend also moves over to buying environmentally friendly and sustainable products as awareness for brands offering unethical goods is being highlighted.

For years’ apps have been the option for e-commerce sites that offer a much easier interface for the user. Now it’s essential to have a website that is developed for both mobile and desktops shoppers. Google has recognised mobile is essential for years, but now more than ever webs need to be mobile friendly and run fast on both platforms.

 

Visuals

2019 has many different avenues to try with advertising but essentially a lot can be ignored due to saturation. Like TV adverts website need to keep their visuals fresh and offer more than just imagery, videos, games and surveys show a much higher rate of interact to help boost your brand's online recognition.
