 There are many key aspects when it comes to build a business. One of them is called THE TOOLS.

Each and every expert has his own set of TOOLS! Can you imagine a computer expert without a computer? Or, further more, without a cold setup + backup/restore kit in his bag?

Well, this is the area I am going to write some RevPages about: The BASIC FREE TOOLS you need to setup the core of an online business.

There are many tools available, many people advertise or endorse various tools, but I guess that when you are at the beginning, the worst thing is “What am I going to do with this, and that, and the other?!”. And this question remains unanswered, as the offers flood your email inbox and — obviously! — each product is THE BEST IN THE WORLD!

In my computer career, I've seen hundreds of OS-es, used a couple of dozens of them (MS-DOS, FreeDOS, Win 3.1, … Win 9x, Win 2K, ReactOS, Win XP, Vista, Win 7, Red Hat Linux, FedoraCore, Mandriva, SuSE, Ubuntu, Debian, FreeBSD, VectorLinux, etc.).

You want to know what's the conclusion I came to draw from all this journey?

Well, here it is:

THE BEST TOOL AVAILABLE EVER, IS... YOU!

Or me, He, She. Briefly: WE.

Whatever tool you might have — be it the state-of-the-art of the moment — it is a wreck, IF YOU LACK THE KNOWLEDGE TO USE IT!

So, in the end, all comes down to PEOPLE, CONNECTIONS, OPENNESS AND SHARING KNOWLEDGE!

This is the journey I invite you to jump into, for the next series of articles, titled “FREE Tools x...”

It is obvious that a business consists mostly of HUMANS. But give it a few seconds of thinkink: IF you were to choose to walk from New York to Paris, use a bycycle, a motor-bike, a car and a plane, what would you choose?

Walk, or FLY?

I bet you'll FLY from NY to Paris and vice-versa! And you'll do it a few times, both ways! In the same time you would walk the same way... ONCE. ONE WAY!

It is exactly the same with the tools in a business. Whether you have them and learn to use them, or you ignore them, and let others to move faster than you.

It is THAT SIMPLE!
