Who Are You
Do your visitors know who you are? Are you an affiliate marketer that promotes generic advertisements? Why?
Today's internet is full of ways to get personal and brand yourself and your business, and it's easy!
Be active in social networking sites, write articles, start a niche blog, leave comments, utilize your name and image on your advertisements, and so much more. Yes, this takes time. However, it is well worth the effort as you not only become "known", but can be looked at as an expert in your niche.
If I were to come across two identical affiliate advertisements, except one was branded with the affiliates picture and name I wouldn't hesitate to join the one that was branded. Even if I didn't know the person, a name and an image immediately produces credibility. Don't be afraid to personally endorse a product or service. If it is something you truly believe is worthwhile, the extra few minutes will create a whole lot more success for you.
Visit blogs in your niche. If your not sure of any, do a search. Read them! You may learn something. You will more than likely find a subject you know something about. Leave a comment. The owner of the blog will appreciate it, as will his readers. If you don't yet have your own niche blog, start one! Blog hosting is cheap, and Wordpress is super simple to install.
Since I am a big advocate for personalization on the internet, I have incorporated 'The Branding Machine into my traffic exchange 1 Modern Solution. Members simply input information that is saved into a database. I then create personalized profile, splash, and squeeze pages utilizing this information that members can use to advertise for referrals at 1MS. These pages also brand them as serious internet marketers and provides ways of contact through Twitter, Facebook, etc.
I also create branded advertisements for programs found in the downline builder at 1 Modern Solution. This upgraded only feature allows members to promote them, while advertising for referrals at popular programs. The unique pages defianately stand out from the norm, and go a long way to branding those that use them. See what 1 Modern Solution can offer you... http://www.1modernsolution.com
No matter how you go about it,, there are resources available all over the internet to let visitors, prospects and members know who you are... the more you use them the more successful you will become.

@Allan. If they are surfing the traffic exchanges they will learn this fast and easily as there are so many ads being promoted that teach this. There are lots of e-books being promoted in the exchanges that teach this and then you have Affiliate Funnel program. Plus the article above mentions 1 Modern solution. There are lots of other exchanges that also teach branding. All these are also free. All the people who stumble upon this Apsense program will also learn it quick enough.

@Lisa, I agree with you, it's really sad to see all the generic stuff out there.
I do reckon that the reasons are one or more of the following:
1: The person posting them do not know that personal branding is the thing, they are brand new to marketing.
2: They know but have not the skills to make it themselves, or the knowledge of where to do it easily.

Great article. I believe this can't be stressed enough. It's been said over and over to brand yourself, but still I see on Traffic exchanges and Safe lists the same generic affiliate pages. I keep wondering when people will start to listen. If you promote an affiliate site that's fine, but make it your own. Put your name and face to it and that way they will get to at least know what your interests are. Then go from there. Who knows you might also make a friend or two.

Sometimes it's not about "How to do Things" - It's about "Why to do Things" and DA gets into the "Why" right here in this article.
