a bit late commenting... but better late than never right?
It was a surreal moment for sure. I remember my husband and I were getting ready for work that morning. He called me into the bedroom where he was watching tv, and said, "look at this, you won't believe it". I thought he was watching a movie or something and asked him how on earth he has time for tv... when he told me no, this is really happening right now - I couldn't believe it. I stood there with him watching in horror and disb

In the hearts of many it still does.
But most soon lost that feeling.

I notice that we all focused on the death and horror of that day but there was a silver lining. I am a blood donor. I had noticed that the blood donation center had been 'empty' for a long time. I would often be the only one there making a donation. I gathered up some canned food I had I headed down to the donation center and the line of people waiting to donate blood was wrapped around the building. I had a 3 hour wait to donate. Many people had also brought food, blankets and bottled wat

I, too, watched my television in Cape Town South Africa with absolute horror. Your pain, your anguish, your loss had me crying for days. Precious lives that were snuffed out by a senseless act of hatred against innocent people, people who had absolutely nothing to do with their anger and who were not the cause of their actions at all - yet they paid the price. This is a day that will be forever embedded in my mind as a tragedy beyond comprehension and to all Americans whose lives were changed

But we did learn a lesson at least most of us did. America is safer fighting extremism on the soil of it's home then we ever were talking about it from over here, casting sanctions and more talk. Had Clinton acted on the attack on the U.S.S. Cole, New york could have be averted but he thought talk and diplomacy would be a deterrent radical extremist who had proven their acceptance of murder and hate had no limits and would not be stopped through talk. I hate war but love the fact we are fighting

On that day I was ill from work and also had online course work to do for Keller Graduate school. I was listening to my favorite radio station when I first heard the newsbreak; then turned oIn the tele. A news reporter was on-site after the 1st plane hit and while he was broadcasting ..... the 2nd plane hit.
I could not believe what I was watching. I clicked on many stations and THEY ALL were reporting the same tradgedy; then the towers started to collaspe. I said "Oh My God" how can t

I was staying at a friends house and she called me from her work and told me to turn on the tv. I asked why, she said just turn it on and hung up.
I was glued to the tv and you know at first until the pictures stopped and a commentator was on I thought it was some kind of well done movie. Unbelievable for hours

Cindy thanks for this. I posted mine on the Apsense 2.0 site. I to will never forget 9/11/01
My wife used to work in the Towers and in fact when she received her Master Degree that ceremony was help there. When she went up to receive her degree she was holding our six month old daughter in her arms. I lost friends in that mess. Yeah, I'll never forget.

I certainly have sympathy for all those that were affected by that awful day. Strangely enough I watched World Trade Center last night. It was very moving.

I had just gotten off work and turned on the radio about half way home and it was being reported as a plane crash. When I got home I grabbed the remote and turned on one of the news networks. My mom was from Brooklyn so it was news that a plane had crashed. Then as we watched live on TV the second plane hit.
Unfortunately there are serious questions concerning that day that still remain unanswered

You are certainly right on that Cheryl.
I will always recall.. I was doing dishes.
My girlfriend Christy called me.
She asked, "are you watching what is happening????"
When I told her NO.... What??????
She told me to turn on the TV and she hung up.
I along with the rest of the nation was glued to the TV.
It was so unbelievable It was hard to turn if off.
For weeks after that I found it hard to speak to anyone
about anything.
As I write this tears are welling up in my eyes and my h

I don't think any of us will forget. I remember my mother saying that 9-11 was our pearl Harbor or Kennedy Assassination. No one would ever forget what they were doing when it happened.
