Fallen tree traps three people inside Tampa home

Tampa, Florida --  A call came in early on Wednesday morning for a critical need. A house on E. Lake Avenue in Tampa had been crushed by a large Oak tree. The residents of the home, Mr. Lee and his wife were woken up around 2:40 a.m. by a tree crashing through the roof of their house and crushing the home. Trapped in the house and thankful to be alive Mr. and Mrs. Lee were most likely wondering if any of their possessions would be salvageable. Authorities were called in to rescue the residents from the house damaged by a fallen tree. According to the reports, the tree had apparently been dead for some time and had rotted from the inside out. The risk to property and life from dead trees are often overlooked by homeowners.
