It Is Meaningful To Acknowledge That A Rabbit Hutch Is Not A TV Set

If you are going to raise rabbits in your yard you will need a rabbit hutch. If you were going to raise pigeons you would need a pigeon coop. If your were going to raise a great many dogs you would probably have a kennel. However if you are just going to have one or two dogs they don't need a kennel. They are happier hanging out in the house and watching television with the family.

Some people will tell you that dogs don't really watch TV because their eyes don't work well with that medium. That could be true although many dog owners will tell you their dogs go nuts when a dog or a cat appears on the screen. It's possible that dogs don't watch television because there is nothing on that appeals to them.

People are always saying that movies have to appeal to young men because they go to movies. Middle aged women, they say, don't go to movies. Well, why should middle aged ladies go to movies if all the movies are made to appeal to young men who want to see things getting blown up. When anybody makes an old fashioned romance middle aged ladies practically tear down the box office to get in.

Box offices look something like rabbit hutches. Box offices usually have glass or Plexiglas in front of them instead of that wire mesh stuff that hutches have. Both the mesh and the glass allow an observer to see who is inside and allow the occupant to see out.

Television sets are sort of like hutches. They contain little tiny people instead of rabbits. TV characters proliferate and it's good that they can be contained inside that box otherwise they would be carrying on and shooting and hollering and crashing cars all over your living room.

A china hutch is different from a rabbit hutch in that it contains no rabbits. A china hutch usually has dishes on shelves. Underneath the shelves there are usually cabinets where things can be stored. You can store almost anything in the cabinets except maybe rabbits.

Sometimes there are cats in the cupboards under the hutch. The cats are not being stored in the cupboards. Cats don't generally be things that involve the passive voice. When a cat is in a cupboard it's because he is doing something. He is doing one of those cat activities that involve getting into a place you wouldn't think of looking for him. Cats do that and then when someone doesn't notice that he is in there and closes the door with him inside he gets all indignant and blames you for incarcerating him. Cats always do that. That's what they do.

Cats want to live where they want to live. Some cats live indoors but if they do they live where they want to indoors. Some people build very elaborate, beautiful hutches for their rabbits and make videos of them and post them on YouTube. One such hutch has a ramp that the rabbits can use to go from the living quarters upstairs to the spacious yard where they play outdoors. A cat would not be impressed but the rabbits seem happy.
