how to set up the sign up box

The subscription form is naturally an essential part of any sales page.  After you have generated enough interest in your viewer to want more info, or the product itself, you have to have a way to add them to your list, before you deliver the product.  How else are you going to market to them the NEXT time you have a valuable product?  Remember: The money is in the list!

My personal choice of Auto Responders is Trafficwave.net  It doesn't have quite as many bells and whistles as Aweber, but it does have some additional perks that Aweber does not.  However, all AR have the same basic functions, it's just a matter of finding your way through the system.

For every sales page, or Squeeze page you create, you must have a corresponding AR 'Campaign'.  Using TrafficWave as an example, on the main menu bar is a button marked <Autoresponder> which produces a drop down menu with a link labeled <AutoResponder Campaigns>

This link will take you to a page listing your current campaigns, as well as links to create a new campaign.  When you click on create a new campaign, the next page will ask you for a nickname and description.  When you have entered your info here, you will be provided with a link that you will insert on your squeeze page.

Once you have your campaign setup, you will be given the html code to insert into your sales page in the proper area.  You can then publish your page!  At this point, the AR system takes over.  your reader enters his info on your page and clicks on submit.  Because of the html you inserted, their browser takes them to a page on your AR account server that acknowledges their entry, and instructs them to check their email for a confirmation message.  Once they click on the confirmation link in their new email message, they are automatically entered into the database of the campaign you set up on your AR.

Your download link is generally inserted into the 'thank you' page your subscriber will land on after they click the confirmation link in their first email, although some systems will send a follow-up email with the link to the download page.
When creating your download page, you simply insert a text link to the zip file stored on your server.  REMEMBER, it MUST be a zip file, or a pdf file, or it will not download!  For ebooks you would create using a program like eWriterPro or upload a pdf created by someone else.  For software files, you must use a zip file program like winzip or Izarc
Just upload the program to your server, copy the link, and then insert it into your download page.

On a product you are offering for sale, if you are using PayPal, they will give you the html code that inserts the PayPal button into your page.  You then take that code and insert it into the desired location on your webpage html.

Yes learning to work with html can be time consuming, but very rewarding in terms of having the freedom to create almost anything you want on a webpage.  If you need tutorials, a google search will return 3,710,000 results in about 0.70 seconds!  Just google "html Tutorials" and you will find a mass of help!

The PayPal system will walk you through the steps to setting up your individual campaigns, as each campaign will require a different button code.  PayPal will also ask you for the address of your download page your customers should return to after they have made their payment.

I know I haven't covered everything here, but maybe this will give you the general idea, and you can ask questions in the comments section.  If I don't know the answer, I will look it up, or find someone who knows!
