Podcasting - what is it?
Ok - What is a podcast?
Firstly its not when you throw your coffee pods in the bin!
A podcast is simply a cut down version of an audio or video broadcast. Hence the term pod, as it is only a small sample of the larger article, it can be anything from a comedy sketch to a discussion.
The most common format for audio podcasts is mp3 and for video podcasts m4v or mp4. Most podcasts are listened to in Itunes, but you can use any mp3 player to listen to a podcast, including windows media player.

As you can see a podcast is simply an audio or video file about anything you like, although to be accepted by the driectories it must be a series and along a certain topic.
