How could I have been so wrong?
I love salad..
My husband brought his mother home a salad
about a month ago.
It was called a Michigan Nut Salad. It was
beautiful, very colorful.
Romaine lettuce
Romaine lettuce
Chopped tomatoes
Chopped walnuts
Chopped egg
Chopped red onion
Feta cheese
Raisins
It was beautiful, but for me to eat
that...
NO WAY!!
Not sure why but wouldn't be something I would
ever try.
To top it he brought raspberry vinaigrette
dressing.
YUCK !
Boy was I glad that was not intended for
me.
Now I love to eat. I don't consider myself
fussy at all but
somehow the thought of that salad and
especially the dressing
was just repulsive.
I think the only quirk I have when it comes to
eating is:
Cake and ice cream
Pie and ice cream
I like both of these but they must be in
separate dishes.
I know silly hugh?
Well for some reason Eleanor didn't want to
eat that salad.
She said she'd have it tomorrow.
I had a tremendous urge come over me and the next morning
I had a tremendous urge come over me and the next morning
I had to have that salad for breakfast, with
that raspberry vinaigrette
dressing.
It was absolutely
delicious!!!
My husband has been bringing one home at least
3 times a week
since.
How could I have been so
WRONG???
I am using that as one of life's
lessons.
There use to be an ad on TV. I can't
remember what it was for but the
tag line was, "Try it, You'll like
it."
In 2008 I intend to be doing things that I
would never would have attempted
before. And if I hesitate I'll think of that
Michigan Nut Salad and the mantra,
"Try it, You'll like
it."

Guinness! I LOVE that stuff and there are still people who don't have any inclination to try it...
What a treat they are missing!
And I'm not just saying that because I'm a member of the 1759 Society, either... I'm somply amazed that you rembered that campaign, Jenny!
You get BIG POINTS for that! LOL! :)

Guinness used to have an advert many years ago that said "I dont like it because I have never tried it"
Most fussy eaters seem to use it as their slogan.
With that attitude, we would all be eating leaves and noone would have invented the wheel!

I like the salad just fine, Cindy.... But I cannot even digest icecream or yogurt that been made with cow's milk no matter what!
You sound like a "Boutique" type of eater, and you are probably a great cook because of it... I like to taste all of a dish one ingredient at a time, and sometimes I will wind up eating the whole meal that way! :)
I will combine ingredients in my mouth like for example, Caviar and Creme Fraiche must be served to me in separate dishes, I will taste them both, a
